Good until it isnt

Still waiting for repairs 5/26/2023

Worked fine for almost 4.5yrs then suddenly stopped cooling. I contacted LG after performing remedial steps listed on the website and have been waiting for almost 3 weeks for a warranty repair to be scheduled. Customer service is hard to reach. Ive had 2 repair companies cancel the work order the 3rd has said theyll get to it one day next week which will make the 4th week without a fridge sometime between 8am-5pm that day. There was a class action lawsuit involving the linear compressors evidently these arent built to last and service options are sparce.

I bought this Frig two months back. It is an excellent frig and has large capacity The door shelving provides enough room for all our needs The veggie drawers and the extra wide pull out shelf provides. More room for eggs etc. Cold water and hot ce dispenser work as designed The frig is extremely quiet and the compressor comes with a 10-year warranty

Of all the companies I have ever dealt with I have never experienced the level of extraordinarily terrible customer support that I have with LG. After four years dealing with this complete lemon of a refrigerator - including visits from multiple service technicians at least ten live chat sessions most of which ended with the representative just disappearing several hours on the phone several refrigerator/freezers worth of food going to waste and being told today that LG would be happy to offer me a 20 rebate up to $500 on the purchase of my next LG refrigerator. I told them that there wont be a next LG refrigerator or LG dryer or LG microwave or any other LG product in my home ever. There is no chance in hell that I will ever intentionally purchase another LG product as long as I live. Im soooooo done with LG.

have had this refrigerator a week and cannot get the temperature below 38.5 degrees. It spends most of the day over 40 degrees and this is before we have loaded any significant amount of food. A technician is coming to check it 5 day wait for that and if he cant fix it we will return it. Disappointed because it was a replacement for an LG fridge that failed within warranty. I like the space and design but it the optimum fridge temp is 37 degrees we are not getting there.

Less than 5 years of operation and its dead. Most of major systems replaced ice maker stopped producing ice lot of times finally developed a gas leak that couldnt be repaired. Salesman told us wed be lucky to get 5 yrars. Didnt. No more LGs for me without drastic improvements

The tech was at my house on time as scheduled. He came in look for the new parts and proceeded to do the repair. In a few minutes he had the old parts removed and installed the new ones. After activated the water to the fridge he checked for leaks inside and behind the fridge and completed the job. In and out in a heart beat.

Repair nightmare

Our journey started with the ice maker not working correctly. The tray was not dumping right forcing water to spill over trying to refill a full tray and the ice in the container were slightly melting. Worked with technicians via multiple calls over a many days. The problem was not corrected. We ordered a new ice maker installed it seemed to work perfectly for 2-3 days before we noticed water leaking out again. Within 12 hrs realized the freezer and fridge were not cooling any longer. After further calls to LG trying their suggestions they have come to the conclusion the compressor is probably bad. Now the real fun started. The compressor is a warrantied part but they cannot find anyone to repair it. So we are on day 8 without a fridge and expected to wait 8 more days for them to find someone or decide what they will do. This review is the summary of what has taken an estimated 10-12 hours on the phone with them over the past 2-3 weeks. Every call is 30-60 min talking to multiple people with no action from LG. I hope they can redeem themselves with a resolution that is fair and gets a working refrigerator back in our kitchen

I am happy I bought this fridge however being an open box purchase it didnt come with a water filter and Amazon products say they have some to fit but they didnt work and I had to research other options. I find that the flap on the left door doesnt always catch causing the fridge to run constantly. I will call for service to look at this - possible adjustment needed ?? Very hard to find a water filter on line that actually fits this fridge.

This fridge has great space and overall has very good features. I bought it because the water and ice maker were only on the door and the rest of the fridge and freezer are wide open. There are two things that keep me from thinking this is the perfect design. 1 There is a large glass main shelf over the two produce drawers. At the back of the shelf is a slot that receive a plastic piece that runs along the back of the fridge. My shelf keeps shifting forward ever so slightly and falling off the back track. The shelf then bows under the weight of the items on the shelf. There needs to be some sort of snapclip to keep the shelf firmly in place. I may need to add some tape to keep it from moving around which is a bit disappointing. 2 This one is very nit picky but I wish the deli drawer was slightly taller. We put a lot of our random stuff in ours and a large tub of Philly cream cheese is about a centimeter or two too tall to fit in it. An alternative would be to use the shallow shelf on the right door but it is way at the top and the kids cant reach it. If one could rearrange those shelves you cant and put the small one at the bottom it would also solve our problem.

All the tape on the veggie drawer was not removed and I couldnt open the drawer. I ended removing the glass shelf to reach and remove the tap to free the drawer. The refrigerator has good after that.

We purchased the fridge in September and installed in February kitchen remodel fell behind. Fridge was easy to move and install. Great space and very versatile with shelving format. Door has cracked in the first month of use. We called into LG and customer support had a repair company out same day. New part was ordered and installed in a week and it is good as new. Great support and a great product.

Refrigerator was never fix they make this the excuse This refrigerator is from 2021 that I bought last year and they wont be able to repair it because there is no model number on it. I lost my receipt and Home Depot doesnt have a record of it and the motor warranty is crap. I wont but anymore LG products

I love this fridge but the compressor went out at 3 years. Lost all my food. Had the freezer completely stocked with meat. Took LG 2 months to get it fixed. It is cooling now but sounds like an airplane. Still waiting on LG to come back out and its been 3 months.

I bought it brand new 5 yrs ago and it had worked like a regular fridge like it was supposed to but the compressor stopped working. Other than that I was pleased with the purchase. I like how I was able to turn off the ice maker and that it does not leave a lot of smudges/prints on the fridge like other materials.

This was installed two weeks ago. So far Im very happy with the purchase. If I have one complaint it was the purchase registration and log on for the app. Multiple failures persistently informed the wrong password.

We have had this appliance a while. I redid my entire kitchen and we selected the LG appliances because of the positive reviews we saw. An issue came up when we were out of town. The compressor stopped working. We lost a lot of food because we were not there when it happened. But we called LG immediately and they had someone out to replace it. It was a manufacturing defect in the compressor. Everything is working perfect again. I would recommend LG and would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

This is exactly what we needed for our large family. The needed space helps us keep meal planning simple and there is still space for leftovers and lunches. The drawer and door space does not take up a lot of space inside the fridge and helps keep things organized. Great product.

We have had this refrigerator for 4 years and are very happy with it. It takes some getting used to the odd noises that the ice maker makes but after a while you dont hear them. The interior is large and functional. I especially like the deli drawer. The water filter and air filter are easy to change. We had a problem with our fridge a couple of months ago and customer service took care of it.

up until 6 weeks ago i had no problems or issues. LG downfall is their customer service Have a problem with water filter housing I have been using genuine LG water filter replacements. Having replaced it approximately 4 times since purchased it was 6 weeks ago that something went wrong. I say 6 weeks ago because warranty service has been scheduled that far out.

This fridge has been installed for less than two years. Wont make ice. Fridge temp is 12 degrees above set point and freezer is 25 degrees above set point. Ice maker compartment wont go below 40 degrees. Purchased based on LGs stellar quality and advanced technology reputation and am feeling extremely discouraged.

I took delivery in July 2022 all good until January 2023 ice maker died Service man came said its a manufacturer problem. They will replace under warranty. Not sure when since it is on back order.

Bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago and love it. Much more usable space than a side by side refrigerator. The storage areas are great. Love the shelf that you can push back to half the depth for tall items.

I bought this fridge in july of 2018. by 2020 we already had issues and LG had to send a repairman out to replace the compressor. Then again in 2022 the compressor went out again and also the condenser. We ended up having to get an entirely new fridge.

After having the refrigerator for less than two years the compressor went bad I had to throw all the food because it was spoiled and smelling extremely bad . I called for repairs and i had to convince the agent that it was still under warranty and it took from December 21 to the 28 to have a technician to fix it . Also according to one of the agents only one company in the Washington DC area can do the job

Thought we got a great deal but small ding that was hard to notice unless the light was hitting stainless just right. Once the delivery was made and done we were unable to complain we did but was told if we accepted delivery we accepted the product. Poor design of icemaker clogs so that no ice is made because it thinks full. Less than 8 months later the icemaker dies and now into third week we are still waiting for LG to send a technician.
